The Staff Accountant role entails a variety of essential accounting functions tied to the Company's financial month-end closing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in compiling data for the monthly closing process, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations for designated accounts; investigate and analyze discrepancies; maintain a comprehensive understanding of account balances and fluctuations.
- Collaborate with various members of the accounting team and other corporate departments on daily accounting operations.
- Address information requests from different Corporate departments and personnel effectively.
- Communicate and support field locations to resolve accounting issues or provide necessary information.
- Engage with independent external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual financial audit to ensure timely provision of information and completion of tasks.
- Assist the Internal Audit department with the annual Sarbanes-Oxley evaluation and testing, ensuring compliance with internal control standards.
- Fulfill additional ad hoc requests, corporate initiatives, and projects as directed by Management.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting.
- 3+ years of experience in General Ledger accounting or 1-2 years in public accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PeopleSoft is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in work.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of US GAAP is essential.
