Site Safety Manager
Position Overview:
The Site Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to all safety and environmental protocols, contributing to the creation of a secure work environment for all personnel. This role involves identifying, mitigating, and managing hazardous conditions on-site that could result in injury or property damage by utilizing specific safety standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and uphold safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, and DOT standards.
- Ensure compliance with established safety rules and procedures among site managers.
- Promote safety and health standards, maintaining good housekeeping practices in the workplace.
- Monitor adherence to safety regulations by all employees.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safety method statements, including necessary control measures.
- Advise the Corporate Safety Director on compliance issues and preventive strategies.
- Facilitate safety training sessions and maintain training documentation.
- Perform regular safety inspections and surveys, preparing detailed reports of findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, compile reports, and suggest preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
- Collaborate with medical personnel to coordinate emergency medical services for injured staff.
- Assist in managing insurance claims related to workplace incidents.
- Organize safety awareness initiatives.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Stay informed about advancements in health and safety practices that could be applied to company operations.
- Keep updated on local and state safety legislation that may impact the organization.
- Embody and promote the company's commitment to excellence through core values of customer focus, employee engagement, integrity, and mastery.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- OSHA instructor certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Ability to analyze and interpret business documents, technical regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-driven with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Capability to work independently without supervision.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
