Position Overview:

CDM Smith is seeking a dedicated Environmental Engineer to assist in various projects within our Water Services Group. This role is ideal for individuals eager to receive mentorship and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Under minimal supervision, develop engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, and solid waste facilities to fulfill client project specifications.
  2. Review preliminary designs and reports to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  3. Ensure compliance with company policies and practices throughout all design processes.
  4. Conduct site evaluations and assessments to align designs with specific location requirements.
  5. Revise design specifications as necessary to meet project demands.
  6. Perform water quality assessments and modeling tasks.
  7. Contribute to the firm’s knowledge management by creating technical documentation and white papers on innovative designs and studies.
  8. Submit technical articles for publication in industry journals.
  9. Participate in conferences and symposiums to enhance the visibility of the firm’s services in collaboration with sales personnel.
  10. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, reviewing their work as needed.
  11. Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Travel may be necessary based on specific responsibilities and project requirements.
