Job Summary

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning of medical equipment, water systems, and physical plant in assigned facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to dialysis equipment and water treatment systems.
  • Coordinate and complete scheduled and unscheduled routine repair and maintenance of physical plant by company-approved vendors.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance of all ancillary devices, ensuring compliance with manufacturer's recommendations and company policies.
  • Purchase and maintain an inventory of service parts using approved sources.
  • Document all daily, weekly, and monthly repair and maintenance activity/repairs.
  • Update project tracking or other company tracking/documentation systems as assigned.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Participate in monthly Technical CQI/QAI process, assisting with the analysis, assembly, and assimilation of information and data.
  • Collaborate with facility staff to ensure all regulatory and OSHA requirements are met.
  • Review water system documentation to verify compliance.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly trend analysis on the water system.
Medical Supply Inventory
  • Participate in managing Program's Medical Supply Inventory by managing par values and performing physical inventory counts.
Education and Required Credentials
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Associate Degree in electronics/biomedical technology, or equivalent, a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License issued in the employee's state of residence required.
Experience and Required Skills
  • 0-1 year related experience.
  • Prior experience working in an industrial/dialysis/medical technical setting a plus.
  • Manual dexterity required - ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to comprehend and communicate in the English language.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to navigate through common operating systems, such as Microsoft Office products.
