Biomedical Equipment Technician

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning of medical equipment, water systems, and physical plant in assigned facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to dialysis equipment and water treatment systems.
- Coordinate and complete scheduled and unscheduled routine repair and maintenance of physical plant by company-approved vendors.
- Participate in preventive maintenance of all ancillary devices, ensuring compliance with manufacturer's recommendations and company policies.
- Purchase and maintain an inventory of service parts using approved sources.
- Document all daily, weekly, and monthly repair and maintenance activities.
- Update project tracking or other company tracking/documentation systems as assigned.
- Participate in monthly Technical CQI/QAI process, assisting with the analysis, assembly, and assimilation of information and data.
- Collaborate with facility staff to ensure all regulatory and OSHA requirements are met.
- Review water system documentation to verify compliance.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly trend analysis on the water system.
- Participate in managing Program's Medical Supply Inventory by managing par values and performing physical inventory counts.
- Obtain and maintain water treatment equipment qualification by completing Annual Water Training.
- Support clinical education by administering return demonstrations during Annual Water Training.
- Maintain current required certifications.
- Monitor and review patient care staff's technique for testing water system.
- Attend and successfully complete all technical training programs required by state/federal regulations and company policy.

There is potential exposure to chemicals and infectious materials.
Scope of work includes high voltage equipment.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided by the company.
Work environment is typically air temperature controlled with moderate noise levels.
May be required to work in various outdoor elements.
Evening and weekend availability, as well as ability to take on-calls, are required.
Overnight travel may be required.
