Job Title: Executive Sous Chef

Remington is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest quality food standards are met, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Train Kitchen Associates: Lead and guide a team of kitchen associates to provide exceptional food production, focusing on timing, portions, food quality, and sanitation/cleanliness.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory of supplies and materials needed for kitchen operations.
  • Performance Standards: Establish, direct, and review performance standards in food preparation, purchasing, and production to achieve effective and controlled efforts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage kitchen operations to adhere to OSHA and Food Handling Regulations.
  • Leadership and Communication: Provide positive and professional communication, fair treatment, and responsive support to staff members.
  • Food Quality and Safety: Ensure standards for storage, rotation, production, portions, quality, and appearance are followed at all times, adhering to food handling guidelines.
  • Expedite Food Service: Efficiently expedite food from the front line during meal periods.
  • Menu and Recipe Creation: Assist in menu and recipe creation in cooperation with the Executive Chef.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the overall hotel.
Requirements:
  • Prior Experience: Proven experience in a kitchen leadership role.
  • Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work Ethic and Self-Initiative: High work ethic and self-initiative.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
  • Attendance and Flexibility: Regular attendance and flexibility to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
  • Basic Computational Ability: Basic computational ability.
  • Focus and Attention to Detail: Ability to focus and maintain attention to tasks, complete work assignments on time, and work in high-pressure situations.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing and Walking: Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often for extended periods.
  • Temperature Extremes: Work in an environment that can be very hot and very cold throughout the shift.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Lift and carry heavy objects weighing approximately thirty (30) to forty (40) pounds.
  • Communication and Dexterity: Good communication skills, finger dexterity, and ability to operate office equipment.

Salary Range: $68,000 - $72,000
