Position Overview

Mile Two, LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to take on the role of Director of Business Development. This position is crucial for driving the growth of our innovative technology solutions across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute strategic initiatives to enhance Mile Two's footprint in the defense contracting arena.
  • Identify and pursue new business avenues, including partnerships and contract opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with essential stakeholders, including government entities and industry partners.
  • Stay informed on market trends and regulatory changes to refine business strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective contract execution and project delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients.
  • Guide the team in the preparation and submission of contract proposals.
  • Work closely with project management to develop narratives showcasing past performance for proposals.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal contracting laws and regulations relevant to business development.
  • Assist in formulating the annual marketing budget for business development activities.
  • Oversee the customer experience, ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and track customer funding opportunities through the procurement process.
  • Develop and implement detailed account plans to meet sales objectives.
  • Analyze market trends to inform pricing strategies and sales plans.
  • Participate in industry events and trade shows to promote Mile Two's offerings.
  • Prepare reports on business development progress and activities.
  • Represent Mile Two with professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, with a minimum of 16 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 14 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated success in securing and managing government contracts.
  • In-depth understanding of the defense acquisition process and associated regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team motivation.
  • Active security clearance is required.
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills with a focus on opportunity identification.
  • Ability to build relationships with teaming partners and subcontractors.
  • Highly motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong business acumen and industry knowledge.
  • Willingness to travel, averaging 25-35% of the time.
