Position Overview:

This role involves providing essential administrative support and patient intake services within a healthcare setting. The focus is on ensuring a smooth admission process for patients receiving inpatient or outpatient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews with patients to gather necessary demographic and insurance information for accurate medical record management and billing.
  • Input and verify patient registration details in the electronic registration system to ensure data accuracy.
  • Deliver clear and precise information regarding medical, financial, and procedural matters to patients and their families.
  • Facilitate patient flow by directing individuals to appropriate locations, coordinating transport, and managing incoming calls.
  • Prepare required documentation and maintain an inventory of necessary supplies.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with patient registration processes and documentation standards.
  • Understanding of medical insurance claims and related procedures.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to collect patient demographic data and confirm insurance eligibility.
  • Commitment to completing the Patient Services Specialist training program and passing the competency exam.
