Human Resources Specialist – Key Responsibilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver consultative support for human resource initiatives affecting the leadership team and all employees.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience and collaborate with leadership to create innovative solutions.
  • Analyze metrics to evaluate organizational effectiveness and recommend improvements. Manage daily HR operations within the designated division.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on policies, procedures, employment law, and essential HR functions.
  • Focus on employee relations, policy implementation, and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze findings to provide management with recommendations for enhancing the work environment.
  • Establish a strong partnership with divisional leadership to align HR support with business objectives.
  • Act as a culture ambassador, promoting diversity and inclusion in recruitment, promotions, and employee recognition.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements by developing and implementing an annual training plan.
  • Stay informed on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR and talent management to inform policy improvements.
  • Facilitate biweekly meetings with the assigned division to address employee relations, review metrics, and identify recruitment and training opportunities.

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

  • Collaborate closely with the assigned division to foster positive change and proactively address employee concerns.
  • Assess employee development needs and recommend professional development solutions in partnership with divisional leaders.
  • Document and conduct employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations in accordance with HR policies.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to management on employee relations matters to minimize organizational risk.
  • Educate managers on effective conflict resolution and mediation techniques.
  • Periodically train supervisors on conducting disciplinary meetings.
  • Track and analyze employee relations data to identify trends and recommend training or policy enhancements.

RECRUITMENT AND ONBOARDING

  • Support recruitment and onboarding efforts by building partnerships with businesses, educational institutions, and other organizations to source qualified candidates.
  • Post vacant positions promptly and ensure visibility on appropriate job boards until filled.
  • Collaborate with managers to create effective job descriptions and recruitment strategies aimed at filling vacancies efficiently.
  • Ensure timely issuance of offer letters to selected candidates and facilitate onboarding within established timelines.
  • Deliver New Hire Orientation within the first two weeks of employment for all new hires in the division.
  • Assess staffing needs and develop strategies for effective workforce planning.
  • Train managers on interviewing standards and guidelines annually or as needed.
  • Organize and manage job fairs, overseeing logistics and candidate engagement.

BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION

  • Assist in administering WSFSSH's benefits programs, including health, retirement, disability, and leave policies.
  • Support the annual Open Enrollment process for employee benefits.

TALENT MANAGEMENT

  • Implement the Performance Management Cycle for the division, training managers on its significance and ensuring effective administration.
  • Educate managers on internal HR policies, including performance management and recruitment processes.
  • Facilitate compliance-related training for the assigned division.
  • Assess employee learning and development needs to bridge gaps between current and future skill sets.
  • Monitor compliance with mandatory training and professional development requirements.
  • Assist in developing and executing talent management strategies and workforce forecasting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or a related field, along with 5+ years of HR experience in a generalist capacity.
  • PHR/SPHR certification is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Proven coaching skills with a track record of enhancing employee performance.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with management and staff based on trust and respect.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and sound judgment in managing change.
  • Demonstrated capability to navigate ambiguity and develop efficient processes.
