Contract Specialist IV

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is seeking a Contract Specialist IV to join our Water Quality Planning team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective administration of contracts and grants that support our mission to protect Texas' public health and natural resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and serve as a liaison with other agency staff on the development of contracts and grants, including amendments, changes, and modifications.
  • Develop and maintain contract and grant tracking spreadsheets/databases for reporting to upper management.
  • Resolve audit exceptions by defining causes of errors and recommending appropriate dispositions.
  • Provide guidance to staff regarding contract administration, policies, and procedures.
  • Train junior staff and provide technical assistance to Water Quality Planning Project Managers on contract and grant procedures.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus two years of full-time experience in contracting or purchasing.
  • Or six years of full-time experience in contracting or purchasing.
