Key Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze grant work budgets, determining spending trends and identifying areas of concern.
- Develop requirements for grant programs and perform other duties as assigned.
- Actively participate and/or serve in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in public administration, business, or closely related field.
- Experience in the administration, development, coordination, and monitoring of grants.
- Grant Specialist II – One (1) or more years of experience in a professional work setting in the administration, development, coordination, and monitoring of grants.
- Grant Specialist III – Two (2) or more years of experience in a professional work setting in the administration, development, coordination, and monitoring of grants.
- Grant Specialist IV – Three (3) or more years of experience in a professional work setting in the administration, development, coordination, and monitoring of grants.
- Experience as a Grant Coordinator, Grant Specialist, or Grant Manager.
- Experience in Disaster Recovery and/or community development block grant work.
- Experience with oversight of federal funds or federally funded programs.

This position requires the employee to primarily perform sedentary office work; however, mobility (moving around the work-site) is routinely required to carry out some duties. The job also requires normal cognitive abilities requiring the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. It requires the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions. Ability to read printed materials and computer screens. The individual must be able to move and transport records, documents, boxes, and all related information and materials, weighing up to 20 pounds when required.
