Our culinary offerings are vital for promoting health and celebrating the diverse identities of the communities we serve.
Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Culinary Operations Coordinator to support our in-school initiatives. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, this role involves forecasting daily meal needs, accurately documenting consumption data, and ensuring adherence to dietary regulations, particularly concerning allergens, in partnership with the Compliance Team. The Coordinator plays a pivotal role in facilitating efficient service line operations, collaborating with school personnel and cafeteria staff to ensure meals are presented appealingly and distributed effectively. Upholding food safety standards is essential, including following proper handling procedures, monitoring food temperatures, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment to guarantee a safe dining experience for students.
This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in various aspects of a dynamic culinary operation and gain insights into logistics and data management within a fast-paced entrepreneurial setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Management: Accountable for estimating meal requirements at the beginning of each day and recording actual consumption figures at day's end. Collaborate with the Compliance Team as needed to input partner data into the system and ensure accurate reporting of allergy counts.
2. Service Line Coordination: The Culinary Operations Coordinator is essential in ensuring meals are presented attractively and that the service line operates smoothly. A comprehensive understanding of meal schedules and student counts is necessary to ensure compliance with counting protocols. Interaction with partners, including school staff and cafeteria workers, is vital for effective meal distribution.
3. Food Safety Compliance: Responsible for upholding food safety standards during meal service and in the kitchen. This includes adhering to proper food handling practices, monitoring temperatures, and ensuring all food is prepared and served in a clean and safe manner. The Coordinator will also assist in maintaining overall kitchen cleanliness and organization to foster a safe working environment.

Job Type: Full Time
Typical Hours: Monday - Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Reports to: Head Chef
Compensation: $17 - $21 per hour
