Financial Planning Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Finance Department is dedicated to the planning, management, documentation, and reporting of all revenue and expenditure activities of the organization. The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Unit within this department plays a crucial role in facilitating effective and strategic decision-making through financial modeling and scenario assessments. The FP&A Analyst will contribute to the oversight and management of budgets for all internally funded operations, projects, and program initiatives. This role offers the chance to collaborate closely with various departments and Senior Management to shape and execute the Corporation's financial strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examine project contracts, modifications, amendments, and payments for construction consulting and other services.
- Evaluate funding requests from project managers.
- Track the progress of approved projects.
- Identify suitable funding sources based on the annual budget.
- Assist in the documentation of organizational financial activities.
- Update internal systems with budget data, reconcile project budgets, and collaborate with project managers and Accounting to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- 1-2 years of professional experience, particularly in finance, accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and presentation software, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and the capacity to prioritize competing demands.
- Residency in New York City is required within a specified timeframe of hire.
