The Credit Risk Analyst will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and monitoring significant credit risks associated with CME's counterparties and securities clearing exposures.

The primary duties of the Analyst include evaluating credit risks linked to counterparties and exposures while developing essential methodologies and processes for effective credit risk management.

This position will focus on CME Securities Clearing's more complex and higher-risk counterparties to ensure that robust risk controls are established.

The ideal candidate should possess experience in analyzing hedge funds, leveraged funds, and proprietary trading firms.

Additionally, the Analyst will actively participate in cross-departmental initiatives, assist in preparing documentation for regulatory inquiries, and provide guidance and support for the risk management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize financial analysis expertise and CME's credit model to assess the credit risk of CME's counterparties and exposures with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to the annual review and calibration of risk models and methodologies, including participation in the validation process.
  • Lead the development and implementation of risk management procedures, processes, and methodologies.
  • Engage in due diligence reviews with external parties, including CME Securities Clearing's Members.
  • Collaborate with other teams to execute cross-functional projects within CME Group.
  • Support compliance with CME Securities Clearing's regulatory obligations through interactions with regulators and assistance in regulatory and third-party requests.
  • Prepare detailed credit, industry, and market analyses with minimal oversight.
  • Present findings and projects to risk committees with limited supervision.
  • Offer guidance and developmental support to Analysts within the risk team.
Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years in a credit risk management or financial analysis capacity.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven proficiency in Google Sheets and/or MS Excel, particularly in building risk assessment tools.
  • Solid understanding of Google and/or Microsoft Suite; familiarity with Bloomberg.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly between various projects as priorities shift.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related business field.

A Master's degree or progress towards one is advantageous.
