The Credit Risk Analyst will be tasked with identifying, assessing, quantifying, and overseeing significant credit risks associated with CME's counterparties and securities clearing exposures.

The core duties of the Analyst include evaluating credit risks tied to counterparties and exposures while formulating essential risk methodologies and processes pertinent to credit risk oversight.

This role will focus on CME Securities Clearing's more complex and higher-risk counterparties to ensure effective risk management controls are established.

Preferred candidates will possess experience in analyzing hedge funds, leveraged funds, and/or proprietary trading entities.

Additionally, the Analyst will actively participate in cross-departmental initiatives, assist in the preparation of documentation for regulatory inquiries, and offer guidance and developmental support to the risk team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize financial analysis expertise and CME's credit model to assess the credit risk of CME's counterparties and exposures with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to the annual review and calibration of risk models and methodologies, including participation in the validation process.
  • Lead the development and execution of risk management protocols, processes, and methodologies.
  • Engage actively during due diligence assessments with external stakeholders, including CME Securities Clearing's Members.
  • Collaborate with other teams to undertake cross-functional projects within CME Group.
  • Support compliance with CME Securities Clearing's regulatory obligations through interactions with regulators and assistance in regulatory and third-party inquiries.
  • Draft comprehensive credit, industry, and general market analyses with little oversight.
  • Present analyses and projects to risk committees with minimal guidance.
  • Provide mentorship and developmental assistance to Analysts within the risk team.
Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years in a credit risk management or financial analysis capacity.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven proficiency in Google Sheets and/or MS Excel, utilizing these tools to create risk management solutions.
  • Solid understanding of Google and/or Microsoft Suite; Bloomberg.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt seamlessly between multiple projects as priorities shift.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related business discipline.

A Master's degree or progress towards one is advantageous.
