Position Overview:
As a Credit Risk Assessment Specialist, you will be responsible for the formulation and evaluation of credit policies and methodologies, alongside the development of analytical frameworks for loan origination and loss forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze data to identify both quantitative and qualitative elements influencing credit risk in consumer and mortgage lending.
- Conduct evaluations and oversee the implementation of both external and internal scoring systems.
- Engage in model testing and strategy evaluation while supporting audit and regulatory inquiries.

Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with various departments including Advanced Analytics, Lending, Loan Servicing, Marketing, Finance, and Data Services. Prepare presentations for management that focus on underwriting and account management strategies.

Risk Analysis:
- Assess origination risk factors and propose enhancements in underwriting criteria, lending policies, and loan product pricing to optimize loan volumes within acceptable risk limits.
- Monitor credit risk associated with credit cards and recommend strategies for line management, pricing, and authorization.

Data Preparation:
- Prepare data for quarterly performance analysis of mortgage and consumer loan portfolios from third-party sources.
- Provide analytical support for the assessment of risks related to new and enhanced lending products, as well as potential loan trading activities.

Analytical Techniques:
- Utilize statistical methods to improve test setups for evaluating the effectiveness of proposed risk strategies.
- Collaborate with Advanced Analytics to design and implement predictive models using tools such as Python, R, or SAS.

Compliance and Reporting:
- Generate periodic reports to ensure audit and regulatory compliance, while also assisting with ad hoc requests.
- Help develop and revise credit policies and procedures to align with new regulations.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A Graduate Degree in a similar field is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year in credit risk analytics within the financial services sector is required. Alternatively, 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
