Position Overview:

Mitchell Martin Inc. is looking for a Principal Consumer Credit Risk Specialist to contribute to our client's financial services operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and implements Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) evaluations in alignment with the annual strategic plan. This includes providing expert guidance and strategic insights to develop the review framework and operational plan; collaborating with stakeholders to gather necessary data; determining the best methodologies to ensure a thorough and precise assessment of credit performance and asset quality; identifying relevant data characteristics, independently coding, and interpreting analytical results through techniques such as segmentation and advanced analytics; evaluating credit risk strategies for alignment with the organization’s risk appetite and credit policies, and identifying deficiencies in credit strategies by rigorously questioning the assumptions used in their development; and effectively presenting CCAR review outcomes, insights, and recommendations to various leadership levels.
  • Conducts thorough evaluations of credit strategies and the governance framework for credit management, including new initiatives, risk appetite/key risk indicator frameworks, and loan classification standards. Regularly monitors and validates the risk appetite and key risk indicators.
  • Independently assesses and monitors the credit quality of diverse loan portfolios on a routine basis (including Card, DPL, DSL, and DHL). Responsibilities encompass designing and refining monitoring metrics; generating comprehensive monitoring reports and summaries; and establishing early warning indicators to detect shifts in portfolio trends.
  • Performs specialized credit risk and asset quality analyses as needed. Effectively communicates findings and recommendations to various leadership levels, utilizing visual representations of quantitative data.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, including relevant internship or research experience.
  • Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field with significant modeling/analytical experience may be considered in lieu of a master's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of experience in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field with substantial modeling/analytical experience, including a bachelor's degree.
