Position Overview:
Mitchell Martin Inc. is looking for a Principal Consumer Credit Risk Specialist to enhance our financial services expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement CCAR Reviews in accordance with the annual CCAR schedule. This includes providing strategic insights and leadership in formulating review scope and work plans; collaborating with business stakeholders to gather necessary data; establishing a thorough approach to evaluate credit performance and asset quality; identifying relevant data characteristics, independently coding, and interpreting analytical results through methods such as segmentation and advanced analytics; assessing credit risk strategies for alignment with the organization’s risk appetite and credit policies, while identifying deficiencies in credit strategies by critically evaluating the assumptions used in their development; and presenting CCAR Review outcomes, findings, and recommendations to various leadership levels.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of credit strategies and the governance framework surrounding credit management, including new initiatives, risk appetite/key risk indicator frameworks, and loan classification standards. Regularly monitor and validate the risk appetite and key risk indicators.
- Independently assess and monitor the credit quality of loan portfolios on a routine basis (including Card, DPL, DSL, and DHL). Responsibilities encompass designing and refining monitoring metrics; generating comprehensive monitoring reports and summaries; and establishing early warning indicators to detect shifts in portfolio trends.
- Perform ad hoc analyses related to credit risk and asset quality. Deliver impactful presentations of findings and recommendations to various leadership levels, utilizing visual representations of quantitative data.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, including relevant internship or research experience.
- Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field with substantial modeling/analytical experience may be considered in lieu of a master's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 6 years of experience in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field with relevant modeling/analytical experience, including a bachelor's degree.
