Class Summary

The incumbent is tasked with overseeing various compliance-related functions to ensure that probation defendants adhere to Municipal Court directives.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Receives direct oversight from the Clerk of Municipal Court or senior management personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitors and tracks probation defendants to guarantee compliance with all court-mandated requirements.

2. Engages with defendants on both scheduled and unscheduled occasions; verifies residence, employment history, and other relevant details; prepares and submits necessary court documentation.

3. Assesses and recommends modifications to probation programs as needed; provides suggestions to the Clerk of Municipal Court and Municipal Judge.

4. Assists with customer service tasks, including answering inquiries and managing the customer service desk; elucidates court processes to defendants and the public.

5. Conducts research and processes legal documents such as warrants and subpoenas; ensures delivery to the appropriate agencies and monitors the service of warrants.

6. Maintains and organizes case files; inputs data into relevant databases to uphold accurate records.

7. Develops and maintains statistical records and reports.

8. Attends court sessions and related hearings to provide testimony regarding defendants' statuses, including any violations or relevant issues.

9. Represents the City of Casper by addressing public inquiries in a professional and courteous manner while upholding a positive customer service ethos.

10. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge Requirements:

• Familiarity with policies and procedures for processing court documents.

• Understanding of legal terminology and basic civil, criminal, and traffic codes.

• Principles of customer service.

• Basic knowledge of the judicial system and municipal court operations.

• Record-keeping and report preparation principles.

• Proficiency in computers and basic software applications.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

• Associate's degree in criminal justice, business administration, or a related field preferred.

• At least two years of experience in an administrative support role within a court, judicial agency, law office, or social service agency, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position.

Licensing and Certifications:

• None required.
