Inventory Control Associate

The Inventory Control Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management across the store, including the pharmacy section. This position is responsible for implementing and upholding best practices and standard operating procedures related to inventory control.
Key Responsibilities- Inventory Management: Oversee the processes of receiving, counting, ordering, and returning inventory items. Ensure that all in-store inventory operations are executed flawlessly, maintaining high standards of On-Shelf Availability.
- Reporting and Systems Coordination: Analyze and manage reports and system applications that affect inventory accuracy and pricing, ensuring all data is up-to-date and precise.
- Asset Protection: Implement asset protection strategies for both front end and pharmacy, including filing claims for discrepancies in merchandise received versus billed.
- Store Operations: In the absence of management, assist in opening and closing procedures, ensuring that all systems are operational and the store is prepared for business.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their needs, resolving any issues that arise to enhance their shopping experience.
- Service Excellence: Promote and model customer service best practices among team members to create a welcoming and efficient environment.
- Team Coaching: Train and guide team members on effective inventory management processes, including order creation and delivery receipt.
- Delivery Management: Ensure accurate scanning and processing of deliveries, addressing any discrepancies immediately.
- Pharmacy Inventory: Collaborate with the pharmacist to verify and post pharmacy shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Pricing Accuracy: Manage pricing activities, including price changes and markdowns, ensuring all signage is correct and timely.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products, ensuring all inventory records are accurate and organized.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to inventory management and pharmacy operations.
- Licensing: Maintain any required pharmacy certifications as mandated by state regulations.
- Liaison Role: Act as a communication bridge between management and team members, ensuring clarity in task assignments and reporting any issues promptly.
- Experience: A minimum of one year in a retail environment with a strong understanding of inventory processes.
- Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Attention to Detail: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with a focus on accuracy.
- Leadership Experience: Previous roles as a shift lead or pharmacy technician are advantageous.
- Company Familiarity: Experience with Walgreens operations is preferred.
