POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the upkeep and repair of production and facility machinery through effective installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on production and facility machinery utilizing electro-mechanical relay logic and PLC controls, along with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform basic machining tasks using maintenance shop equipment, including lathes and milling machines.
  • Maintain precise documentation and records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Engage in clear communication with supervisors, fellow mechanics, and various production staff.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF, and other regulatory standards, and possess the authority to report any concerns or suggest improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong attendance record and positive work history.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience in plastic injection molding is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics for equipment troubleshooting.
  • Must achieve a score of 42 or higher on the Bennett Mechanical Test.
  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience in a production setting is preferred.
  • Personal tools are required.
  • Forklift certification is necessary.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, sitting, bending, climbing, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds with assistance. Must be capable of working from elevated platforms and using ladder lifts.
  • Must be able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Commitment to performing all duties safely and effectively.
