Position Overview

The Manufacturing Mechanic II plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality of all production equipment. This position is essential for responding to machinery failures and executing repairs efficiently. The role involves both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, while upholding a safe and organized workspace by adhering to established protocols and regulations. Additionally, the Mechanic is responsible for inventory management of equipment and supplies, ensuring that necessary resources are available for optimal operations. Continuous improvement initiatives are also part of this role, aimed at enhancing production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain machinery and mechanical systems by executing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production equipment; following operational manuals and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Identify the root causes of mechanical issues by observing equipment in operation and utilizing precision measuring tools.
  • Oversee and sustain multiple equipment pieces by completing assigned preventive maintenance tasks and addressing corrective maintenance requests.
  • Minimize downtime by educating production staff on preventive maintenance practices and supporting operations to maintain peak efficiency.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Competence in monitoring and adjusting equipment parameters.
  • Capability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Preferred familiarity with blueprints and schematics.
  • Willingness to enhance technical skills.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) is essential.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Completion of post-secondary education in a technical field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in plant maintenance and high-speed production machinery, or equivalent technical certification.
Preferred Experience

Work Environment

The role is performed in a dynamic environment that may include exposure to noise, moisture, and varying temperatures.
