Patient Access Representative II

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative II to join our team at UTHealth Houston's Family Medicine Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, providing exceptional patient care, and promoting a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and verify patient demographic, insurance, and financial information with a high degree of accuracy.
- Schedule patient appointments and enter required information in our computer system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Explain required forms to patients and obtain necessary signatures.
- Ensure medical necessity compliance by obtaining necessary data, reviewing our Compliance System, and communicating information to patients.
- Protect the financial integrity of our facility by collecting patient liability, establishing payment arrangements, and discussing payment options.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and ensure all notifications and authorizations are completed within required timeframes.
- Post payments in our computer system and generate patient receipts.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of experience in a hospital or medical business office setting preferred.
- Proficient typing/keyboarding skills and ability to multitask.
- Previous experience utilizing EPIC and navigating insurance web portals highly preferred.
