Overview

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, Inc. (FTCH) is in search of a Senior Project Architect to enhance our expanding Architectural Department. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong history of guiding the technical execution of medium to large-scale architectural projects. This role presents the chance to engage with diverse project types, particularly in the sectors of higher education, research and development, workplace environments, and civic/municipal projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager in formulating project work plans and timelines.
  • Collaborate with the design team during the programming and conceptual stages.
  • Oversee the technical team in the creation of design development and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate efforts with internal engineers and external consultants.
  • Generate architectural technical specifications.
  • Lead the construction administration process, including site observations, requests for information (RFI), and review of submittals.
  • Act as project manager for smaller to medium-sized projects when necessary.
  • Assist with departmental responsibilities such as updating technical standards and mentoring junior architectural personnel.
Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an office environment, utilize standard office equipment, possess visual acuity for reading printed materials and computer screens, and communicate effectively in person or via telephone. Accommodations may be available for qualified individuals who require such support.

Educational Background

Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture Degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Licensure is preferred.
  • Proficient in developing projects using Revit.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and BSD Spec Link is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, self-driven, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively under tight deadlines.
