Job Overview:
Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, Inc. (FTCH) is in search of a skilled Senior Structural Engineer with a robust background in structural engineering and project oversight.

The chosen candidate will engage in diverse projects encompassing building, infrastructure, and various structural types for municipal, educational, industrial, and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Structural department to devise cost-effective structural solutions tailored to different project requirements.
- Utilize expertise in materials, structural analysis, and design across a range of materials including structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and potentially prestressed concrete and timber systems.
- Occasionally lead project teams comprising structural staff.
- Assist in formulating marketing strategies and proposals alongside other technical personnel and potential partners.
- Implement structural design principles to produce high-quality design drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency with industry standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally engage in light lifting, sitting, and walking.
- Duties may involve fieldwork, necessitating access to and navigation around project sites, as well as computer usage.
- Ability to travel to various project locations is essential, along with proficiency in using communication and documentation equipment. Visual acuity is required for the responsibilities.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan or the capability to obtain it through reciprocity.
- A minimum of ten years of experience in Structural Engineering consulting.
- Familiarity with modeling in a BIM environment, preferably using Revit software.
- Experience with analytical/design software such as RISA, RAM, and Tedds.
- Knowledge of standards including AISC 341, ACI 350, ACI 530, and NDS.
- Willingness to make occasional visits to the Grand Rapids office.
