Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish the technical vision for specific initiatives by delivering actionable architectural designs that facilitate technology modernization in a practical and iterative manner. Make informed decisions that balance time-to-market, technical debt reduction, maintainability, and business objectives.
  • Engage with both business and technical stakeholders to gather and document solution requirements, ensuring alignment between business and technology roadmaps.
  • Collaborate across multiple agile teams to deliver comprehensive solutions across various business sectors.
  • Provide architectural governance for solutions within the assigned portfolio.
  • Guide and mentor development teams on best practices in design and coding principles, focusing on areas such as UI/UX, integration, APIs, Microservices, application and data security, DevSecOps, and Cloud environments.
  • Create and document secure, scalable, and resilient architectural designs that adhere to Chubb's global standards and strategies, supporting the digital transformation of the Small and Middle Market Commercial Insurance portfolio.
  • Define application architecture and cloud migration/modernization strategies for the designated portfolio.
  • Assess, evaluate, and incorporate new data and technologies to fulfill business requirements.
  • Integrate data and intelligence to streamline and enhance key processes such as risk assessment, rating, and user experience for customers, agents, and underwriters.
  • Influence the development roadmap and architecture of Chubb's global platforms to introduce new capabilities aligned with business needs.
  • Conduct research and prototype emerging technologies that propel digital transformation.
  • Ensure compliance with Chubb's technology platform roadmaps, architectural principles, and standards.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Over 10 years of hands-on experience in developing solution architecture designs, including integration, security, and cloud technologies. A commitment to collaborating with engineers at the code and detailed design level is essential.
  • At least 5 years of experience in crafting solution architecture designs for cloud-native and hybrid applications (preferably Azure). Cloud certifications are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with UI frameworks such as Angular (preferred), Node, React, etc.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in agile environments, collaborating with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and other critical stakeholders within a Scaled Agile framework.
  • Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services sector is preferred, with a strong understanding of commercial property and casualty business domains being highly desirable.
  • Ability to mentor development teams on sound design and coding principles, as well as best practices in integration (API & Microservices), resiliency, data and application security, DevOps, and Cloud.
  • Hands-on coding experience in modern programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python) and technologies such as .NET, Springboot, Camel, Kafka, MQ, JavaScript, Angular, microservices, REST, SOAP, API Management/Gateway, Containers, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Experience with integrating COTS and SaaS solutions, with familiarity in insurance-specific software such as Duck Creek, Insurity, etc., being a plus.
  • Proven ability to apply modern design principles, practices, and patterns effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Experience in developing roadmaps that outline the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from current to future state.
  • Solid knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Extensive cloud experience (preferably Azure) across various domains, including API Management, Kubernetes, Cosmos DB, App Service, Azure Functions, Redis Cache, etc.
  • At least 1 year of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, with familiarity in tools like Jenkins or similar.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience using API testing tools such as Postman/SOAP UI, etc.
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with global teams across diverse regions.
