Position Summary:
The Senior Educator is required to have a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in an early childhood educational setting. Familiarity with both the Department of Education and the Department of Mental Health and Hygiene is essential.
The Head of Early Childhood Education for UPK 3 and UPK 4 must fulfill the educational qualifications as outlined in the Department of Education's policy manual.
It is crucial for the candidate to articulate their educational philosophy and its relevance to their role as an educator. A solid understanding of child development and the ability to create diverse lesson plans to support each child's growth is required.
The role of the Lead Early Learning Instructor at Spring Creek Towers demands an independent learner who is detail-oriented, efficient, analytical, and dependable. This position requires effective multitasking abilities and the capacity to follow complex instructions while maintaining positive relationships with parents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrate proficient classroom management skills.
- Exhibit strong time management capabilities and adhere to deadlines.
- Show leadership qualities, initiative, and the ability to multitask.
- Complete mandatory training in child abuse identification, reporting, and prevention, totaling 2 hours, along with 15 hours of annual training in child health, safety, supervision, and early childhood development.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and parent information.
- Assist the Education Director in ensuring that the learning environment is clean, safe, and compliant with health regulations on a daily basis.
- Implement curriculum and instructional formats, develop weekly lesson plans, and assess student learning outcomes.
- Prepare progress reports based on authentic assessments and data.
- Conduct individual meetings with parents at least three times per academic year to discuss student progress.
- Ensure safety and direct supervision of students while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a NYS teaching license or certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2), Nursery-6, Pre-K-6, or Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2). A minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.

- Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
- Capable of presenting information effectively and responding to inquiries from various stakeholders.
