We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel to join our team at NeighborWorks America. As a key member of our Office of General Counsel, you will play a critical role in ensuring the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve contracts, ensuring the organization's interests are protected and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Draft new contracts and advise on revisions to existing agreements.
  • Provide counsel to colleagues on legal and regulatory matters, including contract interpretation, federal grants, and intellectual property.
  • Support the development and delivery of training programs to improve staff awareness of essential legal principles.
  • Collaborate with the Office of General Counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and member in good standing of a state bar.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with a focus on contracts law, federal grantmaking, non-profit organizations, or employment/labor law.
  • Excellent knowledge of corporate law and procedures, with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and establish strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $120,000 - $140,000.
  • A hybrid work environment with the option to work from home 3 days a week.
