Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Counsel with at least ten years of experience in Litigation, eDiscovery, and information governance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience advising clients on a range of Litigation and eDiscovery issues, developing discovery plans, complying with best practices, implementing and leveraging discovery analytics and technology, managing the discovery process, and defending and resolving issues that arise during the course of discovery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement discovery plans and strategies for regional, national, and global clients
  • Provide expert advice on eDiscovery, information governance, and data privacy issues
  • Manage and coordinate the discovery process, including drafting briefs, motions, and pleadings, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, witness interviews, drafting discovery requests, and related litigation experience
  • Stay up-to-date with existing and emerging law, legislation, and practice in eDiscovery, information governance, and data privacy
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
  • Work closely with the Direct Counsel, LLC team to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients

Requirements

  • At least ten years of experience in Litigation, eDiscovery, and information governance
  • Admission to the bar in at least one of the following jurisdictions: California, Illinois, Minnesota, Texas, Virginia, Washington, DC
  • Excellent judgment and ability to exercise it under pressure
  • Ability to impress and handle a range of clients
  • Demonstrated ability and thought leadership in one or more practice areas of value to the Firm
  • Strong technical, client management, project plan design, facilitation, and project leadership skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of Firm team members, clients, and business partners
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to function in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain an atmosphere where team spirit thrives on cooperation, trust, and empowerment
