We are currently seeking a Credit Specialist to enhance our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and collecting accounts receivable while collaborating closely with the credit manager to achieve organizational objectives. The Credit Specialist will be tasked with maintaining accurate records, ensuring thorough documentation, and implementing effective follow-up procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively prioritize and collect outstanding accounts receivable, ensuring all notes are current in the system.
  • Monitor overdue balances and facilitate reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Provide management with recommendations for credit holds based on established criteria.
  • Resolve disputed items promptly, escalating issues to upper management when necessary.
  • Review and approve new account credit documentation in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Conduct daily assessments of override reporting to ensure appropriate credit limits are established.
  • Communicate proactively with customers and sales teams regarding orders on hold and their subsequent release upon resolution of credit issues.
  • Compile and monitor documentation for job accounts, including deadlines and credit updates, while processing payment bonds and check agreements.
  • Complete general office tasks, respond to incoming calls, and assist with other assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or 2-4 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and effective time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and all levels of management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on sharing solutions with team members.
  • Proficient problem-solving and computer skills.
