Position Overview:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Risk Management Testing Analyst within the Independent Testing & Validation (IT&V) division as part of Corporate Risk. This role is integral to the development and implementation of methodologies and standards for review activities across the organization, ensuring alignment with the Risk Management Framework. The team focuses on effective testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls in accordance with established standards and policies.

The Regulatory Reporting Incremental Compliance (RRIC) team, a key component of IT&V, functions as a second line of defense over regulatory and risk report production processes. This team plays a vital role in the Company's control environment, providing credible challenges to participants involved in reporting processes. RRIC engages with various lines of business and regulatory stakeholders, often collaborating with internal audit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and design of methodologies and standards for companywide review activities in alignment with the risk management framework.
  • Ensure comprehensive testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to established standards.
  • Support and implement initiatives with low to moderate risk, exercising independent judgment to guide risk reporting and resolution.
  • Present solutions for complex situations while developing expertise in the risk management framework and control environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, internal partners, and management to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct substantive testing, including end-to-end transaction and non-transaction testing of regulatory and risk reports under supervision.
  • Document test results and escalate exceptions identified in a timely manner.
  • Provide credible challenges to the First Line Units as necessary.
  • Act as a catalyst for continuous improvement within the control environment.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with a strong ability to navigate complex organizations and engage with diverse stakeholders to achieve results. Experience in preparing or reviewing regulatory returns is highly valued.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Independent Testing or a related field, demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in regulatory reporting and risk management, including compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, internal audit, legal, credit risk, or market risk.
  • Direct experience in regulatory reporting and testing.
  • Understanding of the financial services industry, particularly in compliance and risk management.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting.
  • Experience with a Big Four public accounting firm.
  • Possession of an MBA or CPA designation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements from entities such as the Federal Reserve or SEC.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements surrounding the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and across all organizational levels, emphasizing collaboration and adaptability.
  • Experience in reviewing testing strategies and evaluating the effectiveness of policies and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience supporting regulatory exams or audits.
  • Strong critical thinking and relationship management skills.
