Position Summary

The Automotive Service Advisor plays a crucial role in initiating vehicle services and repairs. This includes identifying performance issues, verifying warranty coverage, creating estimates, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose automotive issues by attentively listening to customer descriptions, clarifying details, and conducting thorough inspections.
  • Confirm warranty and service contract eligibility by reviewing relevant documentation and explaining coverage details.
  • Prepare detailed estimates by calculating costs for materials, labor, and any applicable deductibles.
  • Create repair orders by documenting symptoms, problems, and necessary services, obtaining customer approvals, and entering information into the service database.
  • Maintain customer relationships by clearly communicating estimates, expected service timelines, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Keep accurate automotive records by documenting issues and planned corrective actions.
  • Enhance professional knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and reviewing manufacturer publications.
  • Contribute to the organization’s reputation by embracing new challenges and seeking ways to add value to service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of professional customer service experience.
  • Proficient in using computers and mobile applications.
  • Ability to convey complex technical information to customers in an understandable manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an automotive Service Advisor with a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics.
  • Background in automobile sales or technical roles.
  • Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence is advantageous.
  • Experience in retail environments.
  • Familiarity with Toyota facilities and certifications is a plus.
