Job Announcement - Elementary Education Support Specialist (TK) Job Description
Under the supervision of an assigned site leader and with the general guidance of classroom educators, the Elementary Education Support Specialist (Grade TK) will aid in executing the educational framework for students in a general education setting to achieve instructional objectives.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This role is distinct from other aide or instructional assistant positions as it involves not only providing educational support to elementary students under the direction of certified educators but also primarily assisting teachers in cultivating and sustaining engaging learning environments.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience: A combination equivalent to high school graduation and adequate training and experience to exhibit the knowledge and skills outlined below. Candidates must successfully complete the district's Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test in reading and mathematics, in accordance with federal regulations.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Under the supervision of an assigned site leader and with general guidance from classroom educators, the incumbent will:

Support the primary (Grade TK) classroom educators in delivering instruction to students in designated classrooms. Employ suitable instructional strategies to meet the goals and objectives established by the certified educators and assist in implementing evidence-based practices to enhance student achievement. Utilize educational materials and assessments for instruction and intervention in literacy and numeracy. Work with small groups of students to reinforce learning. Provide individualized support to students as directed; clarify misunderstandings and respond to inquiries. Assist in monitoring student behavior in the classroom and during outdoor activities. Aid students with various lessons, instructional games, and activities. Communicate with classroom educators regarding student progress and behavior. Help students build self-esteem by offering positive examples, emotional support, a friendly demeanor, and general guidance. Perform a variety of clerical and supportive tasks related to classroom activities and management. Operate various classroom equipment, including computers. Other related duties may be assigned consistent with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.
