Role Summary
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for executing a range of general administrative and clerical functions that support the operational efficiency of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Document and monitor verbal or written member concerns and appeals.
- Manage corporate accounts receivable adjustments in line with established policies for overdue accounts and incorrect balances.
- Support regional managers with reporting and on-demand inquiries regarding offices with significant uncollectible amounts, as well as identifying trends and potential training needs.
- Respond to incoming calls from patients regarding account inquiries.
- Facilitate inter-office transfers between patient accounts and/or dental practices.
- Collaborate with field billers to educate them on recurring errors and/or complex billing procedures.
- As required, post or adjust specific payments received from insurance providers and/or patients.
- Assist the Accounts Receivable team with ad-hoc month-end reports and projects.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in a front office role within the medical or dental sector is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
- Familiarity with dental software (such as Eagle Soft, Dentrix, QSI, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
- Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor with patients and colleagues.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully fulfill the essential functions of this role.
