Job Summary

Puff 'n Stuff Catering is seeking a highly skilled and organized culinary professional to lead our back of house teams at catered events. As a Lead Event Chef, you will be responsible for supervising and directing a team of culinary staff to ensure seamless execution of events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct on-site culinary team members, verify attendance, and oversee the setup of culinary areas and work stations.
  • Coach and encourage team members, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.
  • Lead the team in preparing the right amount of food at the right time to meet guest expectations.
  • Ensure safe food handling procedures are followed during events.
  • Collaborate with the Event Supervisor to ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are loaded and unloaded efficiently.
  • Drive to and from events in the company truck with the Event Supervisor.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in catering, restaurant management, or banquet operations, preferably in high-volume, upscale environments.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques, including grilling, roasting, and baking for fish, steak, poultry, and pork.
  • Familiarity with batch cooking, quantity cooking, and proper heating, holding, and plating techniques.
  • Familiarity with HACCP and health department guidelines.
  • Serve Safe certification.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Clean driving record and ability to operate a small box truck.
  • Ability to work in a non-smoking environment.
