About This Opportunity

Recognized nationally for its outstanding internship program, WSP USA offers a unique chance for interns to gain practical experience while contributing to significant projects alongside experienced professionals. Interns are provided with valuable exposure to real-world scenarios, enhancing their educational and professional development.

The Site Investigation & Remediation Team is currently looking for an Environmental Geology Intern to support various initiatives. This role is suitable for individuals enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate program in relevant fields.

Your Contributions

• Assist in a range of engineering activities aimed at developing technical, social, and ethical competencies.
• Acquire foundational knowledge in Environmental Geology.
• Participate in project research, fieldwork, and initial design calculations and assessments.
• Aid in the preparation of comprehensive design plans, special provisions, and cost evaluations.
• Help in gathering and organizing project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned responsibilities.
• Uphold ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and policies.
• Undertake additional tasks as required by business needs.
• Note that relocation or housing assistance is not provided for this internship.
• Occasional travel may be necessary based on project requirements.

Who You Are

Essential Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited program in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geologic Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in environmental remediation or a related discipline, with a strong desire to enhance skills relevant to WSP's projects.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
• Ability to follow guidance from supervisors and mentors to execute projects successfully.
• Basic proficiency in technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and relevant tools.
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP's health and safety policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
• Successful completion of WSP's Motor Vehicle screening is required.
• This position is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Master's or PhD in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geologic Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous internship experience and leadership roles on campus.

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $28.00 per hour

WSP USA provides a compensation range and a general overview of other benefits that may be offered for this position based on the successful applicant's qualifications and experience. The company reserves the right to adjust compensation based on various factors.
