The Site Investigation & Remediation Team is looking for an Environmental Geology Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship is designed for individuals pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree in relevant fields.
Your Contributions
• Engage in a variety of engineering activities aimed at developing your technical, social, and ethical competencies.
• Acquire foundational knowledge in Environmental Geology.
• Assist in project research, field investigations, and initial design calculations and assessments.
• Contribute to the preparation of final design documents, special provisions, and cost evaluations.
• Help in the collection and organization of project-related documentation.
• Complete training on assigned responsibilities.
• Uphold ethical decision-making concerning company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies.
• Undertake additional tasks as required by business needs.
• Note that relocation or housing assistance is not provided for this internship.
• Occasional travel may be necessary based on project requirements.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an accredited program in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geologic Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in environmental remediation or a related discipline, with a strong desire to enhance skills pertinent to WSP's projects.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, capable of articulating ideas professionally to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to follow guidance from mentors and supervisors to successfully execute projects.
• Basic proficiency in technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and relevant tools.
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP's health, safety, and conduct policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
• Successful completion of WSP's Motor Vehicle screening is required.
• This position is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy.
Preferred Qualifications
• Enrollment in a Master's or PhD program in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geologic Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous internship experience and leadership roles on campus.
Compensation:
Expected Salary: $28.00 per hour
WSP USA provides a compensation range and general description of other benefits that the company believes it might offer for this position based on the successful applicant's qualifications and experience. WSP USA reserves the right to adjust compensation based on various factors.
