POSITION SUMMARY AND REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State's Conferences and Institutes is in search of individuals with expertise in various languages to contribute to the development of content and instruction in the Summer Intensive Language Institute. This program encompasses courses in languages such as Arabic, Chinese, English as a Second Language, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish, with occasional needs for additional languages like Yoruba and Swahili.

Instructors will be responsible for defining learning objectives, preparing educational materials and activities, and delivering specific subject matter. Previous experience and the ability to engage students effectively are preferred.

Completion of mandatory Penn State compliance training through the Penn State LRN (Learning Resource Network) is essential, along with obtaining the following three publicly available clearances:

• PA State Police Criminal Background Check

• PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form

• FBI Criminal Background Check

CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS:

In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, Penn State publishes an Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). This report includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, including matters related to alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, and the reporting of crimes. The ASR is available for review.
