POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at Penn State (University Park) invites applications for a full-time Italian Language Instructor position (non-tenure-track). This role entails teaching introductory and intermediate language courses.

Responsibilities include a teaching load of six courses annually or an equivalent configuration, with the potential for up to half of the courses to be delivered online (asynchronous).

Applicants must possess native or near-native proficiency in both English and Italian and hold a Master's Degree in Italian or a related discipline by the appointment date. A demonstrated record of excellence in teaching Italian is preferred. The rank will be determined based on educational qualifications and experience.

Applicants are required to submit electronically a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and the names/contact information of three references. In their cover letter, candidates are encouraged to emphasize any interests or experience in online teaching, study abroad initiatives, course design, and/or recruitment of majors and minors.
