Position Summary

Starting wage rate: $23.94 / hour

Allied Universal is actively seeking to fill the role of an Armed Nuclear Security Professional. This position is crucial for ensuring the physical protection of nuclear power generation facilities against unauthorized access and sabotage. The Security Professional will engage in stationary guarding and conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols (both interior and exterior), manage access control for personnel, materials, and vehicles, and monitor surveillance systems including CCTV and alarms. Responsibilities also include report writing, deterring criminal activities, and addressing safety violations. Additional responsibilities may arise from nuclear training and qualification plans and specific post orders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and recommend improvements for safety and fire hazards.
  • Document deficiencies, accidents, and degradation in accordance with established procedures, taking corrective actions as directed by security supervision.
  • Manage access control for personnel, vehicles, and materials entering the protected area while maintaining accurate logs.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Education, Licenses, and Certifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screening is required as a condition of employment, adhering to all applicable laws.
  • Licensing requirements may vary based on state and local regulations and may need to be fulfilled prior to employment.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to work scheduled twelve-hour shifts.
  • Strong business judgment and acumen with skills in dispute resolution and negotiation.
  • Proficient analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication abilities.
