Auxiliary Operator

The Auxiliary Operator is a critical role in the operation of a nuclear power plant, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems. This position requires a high degree of manual dexterity, mature judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Operate and conduct surveillance on equipment as assigned on shift in coordination with the control operator and under the supervision of the Duty Shift Superintendent and Duty Operating Supervisor.
• Ensure that the Control Operator and supervisors are kept fully informed of any abnormal conditions.
• Perform housekeeping in the assigned areas and maintain and clean equipment as assigned.
• Perform such other duties as may be required during times when assigned to the relief shift, during emergencies or drills, refueling, or maintenance.

• Must meet site-specific ANSI qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and should possess a high degree of manual dexterity and mature judgment.
• Pass Plant Operator Selection System-Nuclear (POSS) test.
• Unescorted access to the nuclear plant as required by Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) security requirements.
• The applicant shall meet all applicable medical requirements.
