POSITION SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will possess a strong capacity to influence and negotiate with trading partners to secure optimal results for clients and potential clients. Under the guidance of senior personnel, you will coordinate placement activities for new and renewal business, supporting retention and production objectives. A solid understanding of relevant coverages, carrier guidelines, alternative funding options, underwriting practices, and legislative updates is essential. You will be responsible for cultivating and enhancing relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and fellow associates at World.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial insurance brokerage, placement, carrier underwriting, or carrier relationship management, or a combination thereof.
- A comprehensive understanding of a national insurance broker's sales, service, and placement processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Possess a thorough understanding of World’s areas of expertise, organizational structure, distribution strategy, and value proposition.
Demonstrate broad knowledge of the global insurance marketplace, including:
- Small Commercial and Middle Market account segments
- Standard property and casualty products
- Excess and Surplus Lines marketplace access
- Commercial Insurance program design
- Collaborate with World Client Advisors and Account Executives to develop effective placement strategies for optimal client outcomes
- Lead competitive coverage placement processes, showcasing strong negotiation skills to meet cost, coverage, and capacity targets
- Maintain productive relationships with underwriters at key trading partners
- Participate in program design and placement strategy meetings as requested by senior staff
- Encourage the use of strategic trading partners to foster secure and reliable relationships, generating optimal outcomes for clients
- Work with National Placement resources to ensure comprehensive coverage needs are met
- Assist senior staff with complex placements as needed
- Recommend commercial insurance program designs to Client Advisors and/or Account Executives after consultation with senior staff
- Support the preparation of submissions and applications required by underwriters
- Direct submissions to appropriate trading partners and negotiate favorable coverage terms, conditions, capacity, and costs
- Prepare coverage comparisons based on quotations and proposals from underwriters
- Serve as a secondary source of information regarding market trends, pricing practices, and underwriting policies
- Adhere to World-authorized workflows and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency across the organization

TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Mid-level expertise in Excel
PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS
- Preferred insurance designations such as ARM or CPCU
- Licensed Property & Casualty insurance producer in the resident state
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional designation
