We are currently in search of a Project Scientist - Due Diligence/Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including field evaluations, historical investigations, and comprehensive report preparation.
  • Gather field data, which encompasses air, soil, and groundwater sampling, as well as logging soil borings and monitoring wells, alongside site inspections.
  • Compile and prepare Phase II reports.
  • Provide administrative support to Project Managers as needed.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Atlas's policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Sciences.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, including site investigations and report writing.
  • Familiarity with the preparation of Preliminary Assessments in accordance with New Jersey Regulations.
  • Possession of a valid US Driver's license.
  • Ability to perform fieldwork with limited supervision while adhering to Atlas and client safety protocols.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects effectively.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and current HAZWOPER refresher.
  • Knowledge of NJ and NY regulations is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other commonly used software.
  • Experience with EDR's Parcel and Quire Platforms is desirable.
  • Exceptional technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of New Jersey Preliminary Assessment processes and Site Remediation Act regulations.

Additional Qualities:

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within NY and NJ.
  • Aspirations to obtain relevant professional registration or certification.
  • Experience in conducting field assignments, including drilling and environmental sampling.
  • Background in environmental consulting is advantageous.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams.
