We are currently looking for a Project Scientist - Due Diligence/Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including field evaluations, historical research, and comprehensive report writing.
  • Gather field data, which encompasses air, soil, and groundwater sample collection, as well as logging soil borings and monitoring wells during site inspections.
  • Prepare detailed Phase II reports.
  • Provide administrative support to Project Managers as needed.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Atlas policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Sciences.
  • Over 5 years of experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, including site investigations and report writing.
  • Familiarity with the preparation of Preliminary Assessments in accordance with New Jersey Regulations.
  • Valid US Driver's license.
  • Ability to perform fieldwork with limited supervision while adhering to Atlas and Client safety protocols.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects independently.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification, along with a current HAZWOPER refresher.
  • Knowledge of NJ and NY regulations.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other commonly used software.
  • Working knowledge of EDR's Parcel and Quire Platforms is desirable.
  • Exceptional technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of New Jersey Preliminary Assessment processes and Site Remediation Act regulations.

Additional Qualities:

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within NY and NJ.
  • Aspirations to obtain relevant professional registration or certification.
  • Experience in conducting field assignments, including drilling and environmental sampling activities.
  • Background in environmental consulting is preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $85,000 annually, based on individual qualifications and experience.
