Guest Services Representative

The Guest Services Representative plays a crucial role in delivering attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all patrons during their check-in, throughout their visit, and at checkout. This position aims to maximize room revenue and occupancy while ensuring that service is provided at the highest level possible. The representative consistently presents a friendly and professional demeanor at the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities are essential to this role:
Actively promotes and exemplifies exceptional customer service in alignment with departmental and organizational standards. Maintains confidentiality regarding all departmental and organizational matters. Delivers outstanding guest service to all visitors. Supports the company culture by fostering a fun and entertaining atmosphere for both internal and external guests. Keeps informed about the Company's property and local events to provide guests with relevant information. Educates guests about hotel policies, services, and amenities. Assists guests with inquiries and requests for information about the local area, including directions and dining options. Strives to achieve and maintain the highest level of service and guest satisfaction. Facilitates room sales to walk-in customers. Manages reservations through the system for both individual and group bookings, providing feedback regarding confirmation details, arrival, departure, check-in, check-out, cancellation policies, and payment requirements. Updates reservation information in the computer system, processes guest payments, and makes necessary adjustments to guest accounts. Communicates room status and availability to the housekeeping department. Ensures cleanliness of the front desk area and maintains public spaces. Listens and responds to guest feedback and complaints. Maintains daily logs and balances cash drawers at the end of shifts. Understands guest preferences to enhance room accommodations and addresses any issues while keeping the Front Desk Manager informed. Identifies and creates guest profiles to improve accuracy and recognition. Collaborates with team members and other departments to optimize overall performance. Communicates effectively with colleagues, demonstrating mutual respect and maintaining a positive attitude. Stays updated on company information by participating in departmental meetings and reviewing internal communications. Adheres to established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required. Previous guest service experience is preferred. Experience in a front desk role is advantageous. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Capability to perform the physical duties associated with all Front Desk team members. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues, resolving conflicts in a diplomatic manner.CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
