Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated individual to join us as a Food Runner. Success in this role is contingent upon possessing the following skills and attributes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Food Runner, your primary duties will include setting tables, delivering food orders, and clearing used dishes and utensils. Your efforts will directly contribute to ensuring our guests enjoy a top-notch dining experience through timely and accurate service. You will consistently present a friendly and professional demeanor at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort. The following responsibilities may also be included:
  • Deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Clean up spills, broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash.
  • Transport food, dishes, trays, and silverware from kitchens to serving areas.
  • Clear tables of soiled dishes and glassware for cleaning.
  • Refill beverage and ice dispensers as needed.
  • Maintain sufficient supplies of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes.
  • Restock food and equipment at service stations.
  • Sort and stack dirty dishes for the kitchen.
  • Ensure all areas are stocked appropriately.
  • Reset and maintain tables for the next guests.
  • Keep all equipment in good working order.
  • Ensure food and beverage areas comply with company standards and regulations.
  • Stay informed about property events and operational hours.
  • Be flexible and willing to work in various venues as needed.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with fellow team members, fostering a respectful and positive environment.
  • Engage in company communications through meetings and updates.
  • Support other team members to enhance overall departmental performance.
  • Adhere to a Four Diamond & Four-Star service model.
  • Exhibit an attitude aligned with the company’s Core Values and Standards of Behavior.
  • Maintain punctual attendance and be available for required overtime.
  • Demonstrate excellent guest service and communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills effectively.
  • Meet strict deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this position, candidates must fulfill the essential duties satisfactorily. The following qualifications are necessary:
  • 1+ years of experience in food service preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in guest service.
CERTIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be able to obtain any necessary licenses and permits as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
