POSITION SUMMARY FOR CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is responsible for delivering high-quality care in accordance with the established scope of practice as defined by the relevant state nursing regulations. The CNS collaborates with healthcare teams to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care, while also serving as a mentor and leader within the nursing profession.

  • Full-Time
    • Day Shift
    • 4-10 Hour Shifts
    • Alternating Weekends
  • PRN
    • Weekend Availability
    • 10 Hour Shifts

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST

  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program
  • Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida
  • Active CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of state laws and regulations governing nursing practice
  • Successful completion of initial and ongoing clinical competencies as required by the role

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Document patients' medical histories and vital signs.
  • Observe and report changes in patients' conditions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Adjust treatment plans based on patient responses and conditions.
  • Oversee all aspects of patient care, including dietary and physical activity considerations.
  • Supervise less experienced nursing staff or healthcare personnel.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist with medical procedures.
  • Educate patients and families on health topics, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives.
  • Ensure the preparation and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the facility.
