Clinical Nurse Role at Baptist Health Care

Overview
The Clinical Nurse delivers expert nursing services and patient support across various healthcare environments. This position requires adherence to the established nursing framework, encompassing patient evaluation, nursing diagnosis, care planning, intervention, and assessment. The role ensures alignment with hospital or departmental policies, nursing protocols, standards, and practices. It involves administering personalized, goal-oriented nursing care utilizing the nursing framework and the principles of primary nursing, consistent with departmental and hospital regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Evaluates and identifies patient and family requirements to ensure quality care.
- Formulates practical care strategies in partnership with the patient/significant other.
- Executes medical care strategies, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary.
- Assesses care delivered and the patient's reactions for quality assurance.
- Maintains precise documentation of nursing services rendered.
- Performs all tasks mandated by the emergency unit/critical care division.
- Keeps current knowledge and certifications.
- Assists with additional responsibilities as assigned.
- May be required to remain on-site during severe weather and emergencies.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
  • Technical Diploma/Certificate in Nursing Required or
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing Required or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse License in the State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) from the American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
  • ACLS Provider (ACLS) from the American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
  • National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) Upon Hire Required
  • PALS Provider (PALS) from the American Heart Association within 6 Months Required
  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) within 2 Years Required
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) within 1 Year Required
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Proven expertise in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills
