Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing services and patient care across various healthcare environments. This role adheres to established nursing protocols, which encompass patient evaluation, nursing diagnosis, care planning, intervention, and assessment. The position guarantees compliance with hospital or departmental policies, nursing procedures, standards, and practices. It involves managing personalized, goal-oriented nursing care through the application of the nursing process and primary nursing principles, in alignment with departmental and hospital regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluates and identifies the needs of patients and their families to ensure quality care for assigned individuals.
- Formulates, discusses, and communicates a feasible care plan for each patient to address all recognized needs.
- Exhibits the necessary skills and judgment to execute the medical care plan, nursing interventions, and procedures as required for patient care.
- Assesses the identified issues, care provided, and patient responses to ensure that patient and family needs are met and to maintain the overall quality of care.
- Keeps accurate and current documentation of nursing care provided to facilitate the integration of information for the healthcare team, ensuring quality care.
- Performs all duties required by the critical care unit/critical care division as outlined in the scope of service, ensuring that the unique characteristics of the client are addressed, including age considerations.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge, certification, and licensure.
- Assists with additional duties as assigned to support the operational requirements of the department and organization.
- May be required to remain on-site during severe weather and/or emergencies.
Education Requirements
- Technical Diploma/Certificate in Nursing Required or
- Associate's Degree in Nursing Required or
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in acute care nursing Preferred
- Registered Nurse License in the State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required and
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) Upon Hire Required
- ACLS Provider (ACLS) Upon Hire Required
- National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) within 90 Days Required
- Demonstrated clinical competence and completion of regulatory agency education classes in relevant nursing practice areas.
- Proven proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills.
