About the Role

Morris South is seeking a seasoned Sales Manager to lead our sales team in the southeast U.S. region. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong relationships with clients, and mentoring a team of sales professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Sales Team: Manage a team of six Capital Account Managers, driving accountability across the team for meeting sales quotas, metrics, and proper use of the company's CRM and sales tools.
  • Coach and Mentor: Actively coach sales team and nurture a culture of continuous learning and development; spend majority of time in field with sales staff, participating in joint sales calls and providing continuous feedback.
  • Recruit and Train: Maintain sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Set Goals and Measures: Set, review, maintain, and manage sales staff to specific goals and measures.
  • Develop Business Plans: Build annual business plans and sales strategies; initiating and coordinating these plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Build Partner Relationships: Develop and maintain partner relationships with clients and vendors to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Reconcile Sales Activity: Reconcile territory sales activity and commission reports; integrating department activity into the CRM system; promoting and ensuring the use of CRM by sales team.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Optimally collaborate with other internal stakeholders (Productivity, Engineering Service, etc.) to ensure a flawless customer experience.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in sales management with extensive experience in all aspects of supplier relationship management, sales processes, and customer/market dynamics; experience must be with an engineered product sold into the traditional manufacturing spaces such as: aerospace; automotive; oil & gas; and metal forming/fabrication.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the CNC industry is highly preferred but not required and/or experience with an extended capital equipment sales cycle.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Possesses a strong coaching and mentoring mind-set: consistent track record of effectively coaching and mentoring a team of technical sales professionals and the ability to lead and encourage the team to elevated performance.
  • Personal Competencies: Focused; results-oriented/strong sense of urgency; positive relationship builder and collaborator; adaptable and flexible but respectful of process; strong strategic-thinker.
